Oral surgery covers procedures that go beyond routine dental work — extractions of damaged teeth, implant placement, and treatment of jaw or soft tissue conditions. At Sahara Family Dentistry, we perform many oral surgery procedures in-house, which means fewer referrals and more continuity of care.
Procedures we perform

- Soft tissue procedures — for gum-related conditions, often coordinated with periodontal therapy
What to expect
Every surgical procedure starts with a consultation. We review your health history, take X-rays or 3D imaging, and walk you through the procedure and recovery before anything is scheduled.
On the day of surgery, we use local anesthesia and can add oral sedation if you’d prefer to be less aware of what’s happening. You’ll need someone to drive you home if sedation is used.
Recovery varies by procedure. Most patients are back to normal activity within a few days for simple extractions; implant procedures have a longer integration period.
