Digital scanning replaces traditional dental impressions — no trays, no impression material that makes patients gag. A small wand sweeps over your teeth and captures a precise 3D model in a few minutes.
What we use scans for
- Clear aligner fabrication
- Crown and bridge work
- Dental implant planning
- Retainer and night guard fabrication
- Orthodontic treatment planning and monitoring
How it works
You sit in the chair, we pass the wand over your teeth, and the 3D model appears on screen in real time. The whole scan usually takes under five minutes. That model goes directly to our lab software or 3D printer — no physical impression to ship.
The digital model is also more accurate in most cases. There’s no risk of distortion from impression material shifting before it sets.
Is it safe for kids?
Yes. We use digital scanning for pediatric patients whenever impressions are needed, including for orthodontic treatment.
